The New Year
December 26, 2008
Well, since the election, I have not written much; and it is not likely that anybody much cares. I did write a blog recently, however, for the Libertarian Party website, at www.lputah.org. If you have a minute, please read that one, and pass it on. As Chair of the Libertarian Party of Utah, I am pleased that our candidates (even "Super Dell") got enough votes to assure our Party ballot status for the next two years. Our next effort is to grow into something that is not totally overlooked. Since the election, I have run into a lot of people who voted for me (or so they say). I have run into a number of others who say they didn't know I was running, or just thought I was far too much of a longshot to bother voting for. Oh well, that will never change, I think. But the Libertarian movement does have something to say, and we need to keep saying it in a way that will continue to reach new people. The next big project is to get Utah residents to check off our party on their Utah Income Tax forms. Please do, and ask your friends to do so also.
I also want to revamp our Libertarian Party website, and seem to have lost my webmaster. If anyone out there would like to help me with that project, and has sufficient knowledge to do it, please let me know.
I am pleased that the "reign of terror" is coming to an end; but the government will continue to oppress us in many ways, which the new administration and congress will not stop. So, get involved now, and we can expand our freedoms and take back at least some of the lost ground.
